south china mall

mmm...gotta love the smell of progress.  it sometimes smells eerily like massive failure.  that doesn't mean it doesn't make for a fascinating watch though.  the largest mall in the world...the south china mall in dongguan, china, is twice the size of the mall of america, and is currently 99% empty.  yet it still operates because it was deemed too big to abandon (no shitting).  it must suck to work there.  via gizmodo
