wow, this week just flew...meh, ive written that a million times. fuck that, we know time flies these days, blah blah blah. works been pretty swift these days since my art directors been in more (here...as opposed to the penn distrubution office). and in between the work, we've been stuffing ourselves stupid. wednesday was lunch at nha trong in chinatown for about $6 each, followed by approximately $30 worth of snack foods from the supermarket on elizabeth and bakeries around the area. mmm...squid.

last night was relief, a katrina benefit performance at the imaginasian. it was organized by the apia to benefit asian-american immigrants and families down south. there were plenty of bands and spoken word...and one guy who was completely channeling james taylor. amazing stuff. i wouldve taken better (and more) pics, but i wasnt exactly sitting in the best seat...meh. it was pretty coo tho, except my stomach was rumbling. need foodage...

and in a complete tangent, friendster looks like it has a new swish feature...mutual stalking! woot. now you can see whos been scanning your profile and stalking you, so you can in turn stalk them and let them know that you know that theyre being stalked. yay for the internard!

yer...got rocked at the fiddlesticks quiz night again. this was our second outing, so we had high hopes. we were actually one man (er...girl) down this time, but we were joined by a guy named rob who was looking for a group...word. k, former history and theology teacher, show us what ur made of. and we were actually rockin' it for the first 3 rounds! til we hit the picture round, where we got pooped on. which kinda sucks because we killed it our first time there. meh...damnit. so we went from being in the top half to near the bottom, all because none of us could put the damn names to the faces. the last rounds we did better, but not enough to catch the top team...who won by a huge margin to the second place team. they were probably blackberrying everything...motherfuckers.

...one of my few moments of glory got pee'd on a little too. the three main deities of hinduism? brahma, shiva, and vishnu...word! no no...not brahma. its krishna. are you sure? like the hare krishnas? yea...pretty sure. (its brahma btw...*sigh*)

its getting chilly out in the morning and evening these days. so much so that im packing a pullover in my bag. the last couple of years, itd get really chilly fast, then summer would come roaring back for a few days...then sneak away like a ninja. maybe we'll still get some sneaky summer days too this year, but im not counting on it. btw...holy shit its almost october! this year kinda moved by fast...ack!

eek...this is the second article in two weeks about intelligent design. i didnt bother posting about it the first time around because it wouldve been repetitive (religions stupid, blar blar blar). but seeing this topic pop up so frequently these days just worries me. while i have no problemos with peoples beliefs and whatnot, the last couple of years have seen a rise in the brashness of stupid religious organizations flailing about to point attention to themselves. and the topic of intelligent design in particular seems to have caught on with the masses of dumb people out there who would kill to see a religious foothold in public education.

here is the gist of the article, even if they dont use as eloquent wording. intelligent design is dumb. intelligent design is creationism written in legalese, and teaching it as an alternative in schools is not a "freedom of expression" or whatever because it has no basis or foundation or any right whatsoever to even be considered being taught in schools. and for all those who argue it should...they need to be beaten stupid and hopefully neutered, as so they cannot continue to produce offspring. my freedom of expression allows me to believe that gravity is actually controlled by benevolent alien sherpas who live on clouds and hop around with mallets, smacking us down whenever we float too far off the ground. is it freedom of expression? you betcha you sherpa-lover. should it be taught in the schools then? fuck no, because its dumb. and so are you if you think it should be taught.

FRIDAY
hmm, nice way to start off the weekend. a couple of us met up at discovery wines on ave A for their open house wine sampling. they had about 8 or so tables set up, each with three different bottles to sample...yum. there were also two table set up sampling special flavored vodkas...one this fruity variant and another infused with all kinds of energy and vitamin boosters. oddly enough, the energy one tasted better. its like gatorade, except alcoholic. wouldnt do any marathons after downing that shit tho.

we headed to old-school yakitori taisho afterwards for foodage. i dont think ive been to that place in years (since oh! taisho opened). good foodage, etc. we then headed down to crash mansion to see some bands scream their bloody heads off. sitting in the front row=no good.

SATURDAY
brief drinks at movida, then a party downtown. anything non-drinking, non-party related isnt much worth mentioning. most of it involves sitting in front of the television munching on snacks. sunday was no different, even tho i said id get myself out of the apartment. i know i know...but my beds so comfortable. its already feeling like fall too...woot!

...oops, weeks over

yar...its friday already! kinda scary. at least this week i realized that its actually friday. or is it....? whatever. overall a quiet week with nothing much worth posting about. on the downside...yea, makes for a boring read. on the upside however, i tweaked the code so it always displays the last 10 posts (as opposed to the last 10 DAYS)...yay! i guess that means i can slack off more now because i wont be afraid the front page will get screwed up when not enough posts are made. yay for effort to promote lethargy!

*yawn* not only is it a quiet week so far, but my brains quiet too. i think it left the building. wouldnt blame it...movies/tv shows are invading my dreams again. not that this was a particularly bad dream...hosing down two girls with a garden hose is never a bad thing...but then everything felt weird this morning. like waking up in the wrong universe. i was even walking down the street to the bus stop and noticed things i swear werent there before. bleh, the brains weird like that. anyhoo, this post is going nowhere. if i were a typical (lazy) blogger...ahem...i could just post a couple of random pictures i took. but i dont even have that. word...i rock.

er...my weekend got off to a bit of an odd start. its a normal thursday nite, and im all happy and shit theres just 1 day left before the weekend and my weekly sleep-fest 2005. then i get a ring from m asking if i wanted to go out drinking...and im like sure, im always up for some early thursday drinking. and she goes, "thursday? its friday..." and i go "haha...right. its thursday yo!" whereby i check my calendar and realize its friday. holy shit fuck ass fucker! i was a little dazed after that, considering that ive forgotten before it was a certain day and just go "oh yea...har har." but i was honestly convinced it was thursday...which scared the shit out of me. my brain eees meeelting. yar, ginko biloba. buh...so after a bit of a mind rejogging, with my brain still actually skeptical, i was like, "k...i need a drink bad!"

FRIDAY?
the tribeca grand was having another random party/free drinks thang...met up with m, chris, and mink and we got our drink on. so we're having a chill time, 2 of chris' friends show and theyre coo too. and then one of minks friend shows up, who as it turned out was a cornelli id actually met before. yea, he was an interesting character. i think the first things to come out of his mouth were something like "yo i need pussy!" really? thats like, super. he stated that fact a couple more times, and threw in some other similar comments. super duper. so a short time later, we collectively decided that we were in fact "hungry" and needed to "go get some food". mink sadly had to entertain her friend and stayed behind while the rest of us headed off to walkers for some late nite grubbage. we werent technically done with drinks yet, so we headed to another room nearby and continued drinking. nice place...but i dont know why i got boddingtons. that shits awful.

SATURDAY
i spend saturday walking around since it was damn nice out. i headed over to the apple store to see if they were hiding any ipod nano cases. apparently not...but there were some odd hundred people clogging the aisles. blech...so i went off and tried to find a new pair of adidas. err, nope. after another hour or so of hopeless shopping, i called it a day and went home empty. shopping blows. the tribeca grand was having some cmj event that nite...tom vek or something, so we wanted to check it out. we got there around 11:30 and there was a huge-ass line wrapped around the side of the hotel. oh super. we waited in line anyhoo...and even got up to within viewing distance of the entrance when they yelled out that by the time we actually got in, it was more likely than not that tom veks performance would be over. bummer...ah well, i dont even know who tom vek is. k...so we headed off to see if there was anything good at the knitting factory. nope, kinda empty. so we head off again and end up getting our drink on at good world, where i was told theres usually a big asian crowd (filipino it was pointed out). hmm off-nite i guess, since there wasnt an asian in site. whatev...drinky drink, head home, and bummed the rest of the weekend. what day is it?

shiny new toys

remember how i mentioned that the ipod nano was something thatd actually interest me? oh yea...i wasnt kidding. so i get home last nite to a package waiting for me at the front desk...and im thinking "naah, the invoice said itd take another week." whatever, it arrived...woot! my new ipod nano! i bought something apple! holy shit! exclamation mark! for those that were unaware, this is a big step for me. ive never been the biggest fan of apple, and ive never really had the desire to jump onto the massive 10-mile long ipod bandwagon. but damnit this thing is tiny and gorgeous. and im not exactly one to hold prejudices when it comes to shiny new toys.

oh yea...free engraving if you order online too! word.

hmm, pretty quiet week. some random quips here and there. i picked up a new last exile collection the other week because my japanese versions just getting on my nerves. "lavie we want fly now where sky birds yes..." argh! what the hell does that even mean? yea, so i got the new collection with subs from the american release, and the last 2 discs (there are 3 discs) doesnt play on my dvd player. grr! i try to get it exchanged, but have to wait another week and a half til they get it restocked. then i start playing it last nite, and disc 3 doesnt work! argh...im gonna stab my eyes out. anyhoo, ive already ordered a new one online, and ill probably just return this one. grr...

ADVENT CHILDREN
on the bright side...im currently, um, "looking" for the new ffvii: advent children that just came out (thanks petrol). yes looking. not on bit torrent or anything...b/c you know, thats not legal or whatever.

POTTER
ooh...and in other news, new goblet of fire trailer! yay hooray! and holy crap does it rock. alot of new scenes and clips from the movie, including the durmstrang and beauxbaton introductions, cho chang, death eaters, mad-eye moody...and holy shit, voldemort? ill definitely be reserving premium seats for the premiere again.

schoolgirls

i hadnt seen the family since my sis' bday, so the clan met up saturday morning for some foodage (sans the sis' bf this time). so without sis' pet cracker, our choice of foodage actually opened up. we headed to a japanese restaraunt for once for some sushi and sashimi. my parents wanted the sushi/sashimi "boat", but i was wary of it because they usually toss on california rolls, which bore me stupid...tho the sashimi was pretty damn good. after lunch, we went off to find my parents some hiking shoes, since theyve apparently taken a shine to trail hiking.

FISH'S PAD
fish had just recently made his first big real estate purchase, and needed help painting the place. so i met up with fish afterwards and we headed to his new pad. the place was pretty coo...like a small community of swiss chalets on a mountaintop. nice views and all. it was already halfway thru the afternoon, so we only had time to paint the ceilings. note to self...wear a shitty t next time. i got a big smeg of paint on my cap too, but managed to wipe that off. oh yea, and painting ceilings is some painful shit.

SCHOOLGIRLS
we headed to denville for din after that, noshing on seafood at codmothers...yum...then coffee and chess after that. if you were to ask fish about me and girls, he'd probably rattle off a list of schoolgirls who've made their way to our table during coffee and chess runs, which ive usually brushed off as a series of odd circumstances. meh, whatever. near the end of our game, where i was on the verge of winning, 2 girls sit down at our table, asking if they could hang with us til a group of guys behind them left. so looking over their shoulders, we spot the group of obnoxiously loud punks across the street...super. ok whatev, they can hang with us. they ask what school we're from, and we're like...um, well i grew up in montville, but went to college in cow country, new york. and they go...college? yea college...super, they thought we were actually 17 and in high school...(??). cripes sorry, you're a decade off. mebbe it was my cap. i went on to lose the chess game.

added bonus: i got to ride on the path train back to manhattan with the largest group of obnoxiously loud and underage bridge and tunnelers sporting bottles of liquor (in plain site) ever. there were like 20 of them...rock.

oh, and i spent the rest of the weekend watching hitchhikers guide to the galaxy on dvd. yay for kims video and releasing dvds early!

see...i still dont particularly like apple and its slavering brainwashed cult of jobians. but ill readily admit that this is something that would appeal to me. very swish. but knowing all things small, apple, and mp3, they'll make 10 of these, and put anybody who wants one on a list, where you'll wait a year before they notify you that theyve considered your application to purchase one and potentially be graced with the beautiful glow that is apple.

err...im still sleepy. my minds kinda pudding at the moment, so im just gonna lay down a random post. last nite was an unexpected reunion of sorts of people i hadnt seen in...years(?). jackie was in from singapore (on her way to l.a.), karen was in from oregon, and i4 i hadnt spoken to in years til recently. we met up for mexican at cafe el portal, along with i4s roommate...so that was interesting to say the least.

gilligan...aka bob denver died yesterday. *sigh* a world without gilligan. the world just changed a little bit for the worse. it feels like just yesterday i was watching the gilligan reruns...

theres a couple new pics from the new superman returns. lex luthors shiny top, kate bosworth as lois lane (shes not so hot as a brunette), and supermans crashed crystal bling ship...coo stuff.

labor day weekend

is labor day weekend over already? damnit.

SATURDAY
i met up with m and crew saturday to check out the last ps.1 summer party for this year. i hadnt been to one in forever, but it was pretty coo...and the weather was stupidly nice too. after we met up with mink and her friend and chilled out in the courtyard past sunset, we headed off to woodside for some thai food at sripraphai. yea, i googled that shit. i couldnt even pronounce the name of the restaurant, let alone remember its name. everybody split after foodage, and i roamed around w.village with mink for a bit before meeting up with alice and her crew for drinkies at opus 22. the place was packed, so we grabbed a round of shots before heading to the park...where i was rejected for wearing sneakers. whatever you bitches. alice and crew headed in anyhoo, and i strolled off towards e.vil. *yawn*

SUNDAY
i marinated most of the day away, then met up with anna and crew for a bbq din at yakiniku. yum yum, havent had japanese bbq in too long. foodage, bbq, ice cream, etc...and then we were supposed to catch a movie (either brothers grimm or forty year-old virgin) except everybody pooped out before that happened. so i strolled home and ate pizza.

LABOR DAY
word, still nice out. a group of us had originally tried to plan a bbq for labor day, but all the bbq places were ass-far away, and the logistics of carting around all the bbq paraphernalia was just poop...so we decided on a picnic instead. i met up with anna, sean, and alice at the union square whole foods where we picked up bags of foodage before hopping the A all the way up to the cloisters/tryon park. we chilled out on the grass and munched on fancy-pants prosciutto and this really good cheese alice picked out. italian...something vecchio. right. i need to head up to the cloisters more often...area is too nice.

labor day weekend

i finally got both my new credit card and my new army medic bag last nite. took those bastards long enough. another new cards actually coming, because when i called them up to activate the card, i told them to change the name...and then bitched to the woman about the shiteness of the situation that led to my new card. its kind of ineffective tho, bitching to a woman that continuously replies in a droll monotone voice...

me: "im gonna fucking beat every one of you blah blah blah!!!"
cb: "thank you sir. is there anything else i can help you with?"
me: "gah#!#*bbq!!!"

damn you. whatever, im getting my cam supplies from the internard from now on. fucking b&h.

labor day weekend! woot! now to make plans. plans...yea, plans.
