there be hobbits

oh, and i suppose most people have read by now...scientists found hobbit skeletons! no really, like in a cave on an indonesian island. yay to middle earth yo...and the geek community rejoiced. i mean who knows? maybe middle earth was real. you've got dragons (dinosaurs), mysterious ancient civilizations (atlantis...or was it numenor?), numenorian descendants (us), and now hobbits. now whens that damn extended edition coming out...

comic book movies and oceans 12

ign has a coo article about the multitude of comic-to-movie translations that have or will grace the big screen. there've been plenty of hit or misses in the past...more hits for dc and (alot) more misses for marvel. but nowadays marvel cranks out quality shit, while dcs kind of been pooping out turds lately...ever since the smelly garbage that was batman+robin (which ill admit to actually paying to see in the theaters). amongst the more notable movies on the list include the blade trilogy, the upcoming bryan singer superman (with the newly minted "man of steel" brandon routh), j.m. stracznski's rising stars, and the green lantern...starring jack black! sha-na-na-na-na...

OCEANS TWELVE
oh right...i keep forgetting to post this. the new oceans 12 trailers up and shuffling about. while im not much of a soderbergh fan, i did think the first oceans 11 was pretty swish (no, not the rat pack one...the clooney one). so im looking forward to the crew heisting more bling in the new movie. catherine zeta-jones...douglas(?) joins the crew too, so its extra swish.

EPISODE 3 TEASER POSTER
this just in too...aicn just posted about the official teaser poster for star wars eps3 that was shown on et. holy shit look...the way his cape flows totally resembles darth vaders helmet. what are the odds? and anakins totally gonna be darth vader soon, so thats just like a really fucking amazing coincidence. bleh fuckit. i gotta agree with quints initial assessment, the posters kinda dorky. and i do prefer the fake one posted about before too. *shrug* whatev. come out with the fucking trailer already (to be attached to the incredibles btw...in case youz didnt know).

casshern stateside

feh, too tired to post. ok, im not really that tired...but i am currently chatting on aim and msn with bo-ra and min (respectively), so i dont really feel like writing any kind of significant post. hmm, maybe ill post this, since its coo beans. ign reports that dreamworks has just snagged the domestic distribution rights to the super-coo japanese movie casshern. yay to seeing casshern on the big screen stateside! not that i really care all that much...im already waiting for my dvd in the mail (ship damnit!). super-duper 3-disc region 2 casshern ultimate edition. ill let you know how the movie is when i get it...wooha!

poot, i missed the law & order filming in my lobby last nite. i was too busy chewing on cajun food at acme with the pho-meister. ah well...whatev. i think it was a diet law & order anyway, like "trial by jury" or something. the rockin' cajun was more worth it, tho pho did get a bit of a stomach ache afterwards.

WILLY WONKA
anyhoo, the return of random movie news! yay! first up is a super-sneaky (possible) first look at the new willy wonka himself, johnny depp. from the set of tim burtons charlie and the chocolate factory, the sun (via aicn) has a fuzzy b+w spy shot of depp sporting dark shades and a tophat ala wonka. tho aicn speculates the shades are just circumstantial (read: not part of the costume), the tophat is straight-up wonka. coo beans yo.

EPISODE.3
second up is a treasure-trove of rumors, speculations, and confirmations (and shoot-downs) of rumors and speculations for the upcoming star wars eps3, via aicn. the collection of info apparently comes not only from around the web, but also from someone whos seen a rough cut of the movie...and some of the tidbits sound downright coo. i know, its easy to be suspicious. but who honestly cant wait to see the jedis get a costco-sized can of whoop-ass opened up on them? mace gets whacked, obi-wan kicks anakins ass, and sidious/the emperor takes a massive dump on the galaxy. sounds fun yo...so take a read of the lengthy collection of eps3 info.

DOA ULTIMATE
and finally, this isnt movie news or anything, but it makes for a good accompanying pic. while anyone whos ever played dead or alive has probably felt a little dirty for thinking the characters were hot (and they were), the game series nevertheless rocked. back in the kickass dreamcast days, we wasted away hours huddled around the tv in jen+carols 312 apartment with dead or alive 2, smacking each other stupid with girls in tiny outfits and guys in metallic teletubby costumes. the fact that the girls were hot, and that you could actually adjust the bounciness of their jumblies was merely a perk. so now the xbox gets doa: ultimate edition...a souped-up version of doa2 with more characters, badass graphics, an assload of extra features, beach costumes (read: bikinis), a kasumi santa costume (word)...and if you happen to be in japan and get the limited-edition kasumi-chan xbox package, a life-sized kasumi "love pillow" too. um...

black finn and bike tours

FRIDAY
friday nite was a long-overdue din with sally, anna, sean, and alice. i almost feel like i hadnt seen them in forever. we noshed at menkui-tei around the corner from st. marks. a change of pace, but still nice. the place was pretty quiet and chill compared to our usual eats on st. marks, and they had a coo selection of ramen dishes. the portions were also stupidly big...like ridiculous-size. we couldnt really decide what to do after din, so we split up. i went home. hmm...thats it for friday.

SATURDAY
i woke up early satty morning to meet tien in williamsburg for a brooklyn bike tour. after a quick bike tweak (his front brakes were a bit weird) we started our trek southwards. tien was giving me a bit of a historical tour of some of the buildings we passed by. so not only was it fun, but it was also educational...word. we eventually hit dumbo, where i made it a point to (finally) check out the hot chocolate from jacques torres, which was pretty good. both of us were a bit starved, so we grabbed a bit of brunch from bubby's before continuing south along the waterside. tien kind of had an idea where we were going, but we were basically just ducking into whatever waterside street looked interesting. we continued south into red hook (id never been before) and checked out some of the coo piers, including some bwac art show, the sunken piers and a sunken ship the next pier over, and even the abode of steves authentic key lime pie. mmm...key lime pie. shouldve gotten some. after that, more south...of the southerly direction. southwards i say! after hitting the gowanus canal, the scenery got decidedly less interesting. so we turned towards the city and i caught the train from union st. ill post pics tomorrow or something.

satty nite was marisol and minks guest bartending gig at black finn. so a few of us braved midtown east to go and harass them as surly bar-people. black finn turned out to be a sports bar...a nice one at that with plasma screens everywhere, and even little tvs in each booth. craziness. the cardinals/red sox game was on, so the place was packed with crazy people hollering things about who rocks and who does not. i love sports. my first round of drinks was the obligatory gimlet, which m made pretty well. i then got her to make me my weapon of choice...the infamous william tell, which was a propietary drink only stellas (at cornell) served. and it tasted pretty good til i realized later that when i told her the ingredients, i kind of left out citron. damnit, no wonder it tasted like non-alcoholic candy. the drinks for the rest of the nite were basically me trying to get the william tell perfected (fyi, its supposed to taste like apple sidra)...4 drinks later. bah, what a motherfucking particular drink. anyhoo, stumbled home around 3:30ish...super.

SUNDAY
...was made super-fun by the 10am wake-up call for dim sum from alice. being slightly hungover in bed, i never picked it up...or the two other calls that followed afterwards. frickin' alice. after getting up groggy and disheveled and figuring out what the dilly was, i made my way down to chinatown to join the crew at dim sum-a-go-go. a bit of shopping afterwards, wandering soho and east village, etc...then home and worked out in the gym til my chest and biceps ripped thru my shirt. jk.

random wednesdays fridays

yay for the return of random wednesdays. except its friday, and i dont think ive ever had a random friday. yay for the first random friday!

APOLOGY
first, id like to apologize to sam of ddoi for yesterdays profanity-laced craziness. i suppose if i was a better person, i never wouldve bothered replying to the little fuckheads comment. but when he went off on the other commenters for their civilized replies, i had to jump in. i hope that in the future, i wont try to dignify shithead commenters like him by replying. that little fucker. i suppose i should also try and tone down my cursing too. fuck bugger ass shit cock asscock.

CROSSFIRE
if you havent already, definitely head over to flattire and download the brilliant crossfire segment where jon stewart bitch slaps tucker carlson around. my respect for jon stewart shot thru the roof as i watched him verbally abuse carlson, rise above the partisan theatrics so prevalent right now (thanks bush), and tell it like it is.

HI FROM GERMANY
an american nun from germany left a comment in one of my posts...how coo is that? granted im taking it at face-value, but why would someone make something like that up? whatever, im pretty trusting. hi sister, thanks for the compliments! i hope you found that rollerball pen you were looking for, and all is well in germany. and regardless of whether kerry or bush wins, pray that this country is a better place when and if you come back.

LAW+ORDER
we got a nice memo from the building management slipped under our door yesterday. law & orders apparently filming in our lobby next tuesday. yay to that. they chose 6pm to 8pm for their shooting too. excellent timing boys. i hope you dudes are at least treating us residents to some fine catering. cheescake please. i also really hope our lobby doesnt get treated like a crime scene or something, like law & order: svu did when they shot some scenes in front of my old office in east williamsburg. damn you ice-t.

WTF
lastly, tien sent me this link to some fucking horrible pics of keira knightley with some kind of 10-year old boy haircut. what the motherfuck are you doing?!? do you not know that you are super-hot WITH long hair? maybe short-to-medium ala bend it?? but definitely NOT "hi, i am a 10-year old child"??? god i hope its for a movie role, and/or she lost a bet. hair...grow fast and with speed!

addendum: i told tien that i was going to dock points and drop her rank in my top 10 hotness list, but i look at her old pics pre-short hair and just cant go thru with it. so ignore the pics below, because we'll always have these.

*yawn*...easy-going nite yo. not much to write about, unless youre interested in the new bryan singer superman (the new supermans gonna be a dude named brandon routh, fyi). just a relaxing round of smallville (with a coo flash guest spot) and swapping music with petrol thru gmail. my music collections always up for new additions, as is our jukebox at work. feel free to flood my gmail inbox with mp3s [veritech.pilot@gmail.com] and ill reciprocate. a warning tho...my taste in audio is a bit all over the place.

DO-IT-YOURSELF ARCHITECTURAL DIALOGUE
compose 40,000 impressive sentences. select one phrase from each
column to form gobbledy-gook statements that sound profound
  COLUMN A COLUMN B COLUMN C COLUMN D
1 One might say the massing of major elements must utilize and be functionally interwoven with the sophisticated design solution.
2 Aesthetically speaking the introduction of brutalism maximizes the real probability of cost overruns for the anticipated degree of human ambiance.
3 On the other hand the treatment of the main facade adds specific critical path events to the acuteness of the conflict gradient.
4 Based upon inter-disciplinary considerations the initial stage of conceptual development necessitates that urgent considerations be made of the pragmatics of value engineering.
5 With sensitive respect for human scale the by-product of repetitive space articulation requires exhaustive trade-off study to arrive at the final quantitative analysis.
6 Indubitably the life-cycle cost control is further compounded by taking account the evolution of performance specifications.
7 Above and beyond plebian comfort objectives the environmental impact analysis presents extremely synergistic challenges to the philosophy of commonality and standardization
8 Beyond the horizon of the human intellect energy conservation regulations recognizes the critical necessity to subtract from the study of true fecundity in the state of the art.
9 Architecturally thinking the structural dynamic analysis imposes smothering constraints upon the creation of an immortal monument to posterity.
10 In the final rationalization the internal use adjacencies and circulation adds overriding three-dimensional constraints to the final abortion.

As a bonus service to our friends and clients, we thought it appropriate to provide the above "Do-it-yourself Architectural Dialogue" chart.

Those of you who are not school-trained in architecture will find this invaluable in conversing with designers and governmental authorities. Just think of any four-digit number (say, 2447), consult your handy chart, and read off the similarly numbered phrases from Columns A,B,C, and D. ie: - 2447= "Aesthetically speaking the initial stage of conceptual development necessitates that urgent considerations be made of the philosophy of commonality and standardization."

As you become more proficient in its use, you may wish to experiment with varying column sequences, ie: BADC, CBAD, etc. However, these advanced configurations are not recommended for beginners, as they do require sophisticated dexterity with punctuation.

word, monday nite baseball with wings...and beer...and nowhere to sit. ah well, whatev. the monday crew met up at croxleys after work, where there was already a sizeable crowd of people staring at the tvs and loudly proclaiming their allegiances to either the yankees or red sox. in the case of our group, we were rooting for the sox, if only because the most obnoxiously loud buggers at the bar were yankees fans (obviously). that, and tiens credo was "the enemy of my enemy is my friend"...and tien has much love for the mets, but none for the yankees. as we lounged around "waiting to be seated" (an hours wait...right), we parked ourselves along the wall. no seats, but we still had plenty of wings and beer, so it was all good. every so often, the place would erupt with cheers of "lets go yankees"...which i noticed by the bottom of the ninth and ample amounts of beers later, became either "lets go rangers", "lets go yankers", or "lets go wankers". take your pick. with the score still tied at the end of the ninth, and the game heading into extra innings, i decided to bail...which i think was a sound decision since the game went on to 14 innings.

btw, whats up with people going "hai-ya!" everytime matsuis up to bat? motherfucking kung-fu racists...

with the presidential elections only weeks away, its time to get partisan yo. many of the major news publications came out with their endorsements this past week...such as the ny times and boston globe for kerry, and the chicago tribune for cunt...i mean bush (all via gothamist). while i generally stay clear of politics, and would rather have the two candidates over for a rockin' movie nite with beer and atomic wings, i thought id take the time to give our endorsement to a candidate. on behalf of the crew at m3ntal contraband...me, cow, bear, and sheep the intern...we whole-heartedly endorse the democratic nominee john f. kerry for president. mainly because we see eye-to-eye on 80% of his policies...but in actuality because we just think bush is a fucking idiot. like ridiculously stupid. no seriously, i dont understand why people keep saying "dont underestimate his intelligence," because the dudes got some serious m3ntal deficiencies...and im probably already overestimating his intelligence. aside from the fact that english was my second language and i seem to have a better grasp of it than bush, his faith-based logic and really really flawed environmental, foreign, scientific, and economic policies are destroying the fabric of our country. i am however rather impressed with the speed at which he completely and utterly destroyed the respectability and credibility of the u.s. in the international community. fucking record-breaking...why is this fuck our president again?

for an interesting look into the (relatively empty) mind of our good president, the ny times has a lengthy (but enlightening) 11-page article on the major events that shaped george w. bushs life...from indirection in his youth, to his spiritual rebirth as a freaky born-again christian, to becoming the inept president of the most powerful country in the world.

last bike ride of the year?

[ audio selection | groove armada - edge hill ]

woot, back to my usual weekend of injury-making since being distracted recently by "extra-curricular" activities. me and fish were set to take one of our last bike runs of the year this weekend, so i headed straight to the path after work since fish had to concurrently pick up his dad from newark airport around 8ish. his dads flight got delayed by the shit weather, so we headed to west orange to chill with din and chess at panera's. chess isnt worth mentioning since i got my ass kicked twice...blah. after picking up mr. pescado from the airport and dropping him off back at their house, we headed back out to get one last round of coffee and chess at the caldwell starbucks. not worth mentioning again...because i got my ass kicked again. wtf.

FAMILY REUNION
my family hadnt really seen each other in a few months, so we actually had lunch/dim sum planned for satty morning. the sec my sis arrived with her bf, we headed off to hunan cottage for mucho tofu (my choice), shau long bau (sis), assorted weird stuff (parents), and um...chicken fried rice (sis' bf dave, the token white dude)...word. we bummed around the house after lunch for a bit, showing the my mom and dad how to burn cds (they had an assload of vacation pics), etc. after my sis took off, i took off shortly afterwards to bike the trails of the patriots with fish. we made a pitstop at martys reliable to check out some of the new '05 models they just got in (including the new silver model of my enduro comp), then hit the patriots path from our usual trailhead. 15 minutes into our ride it starts to rain...thats like, super. we fig'd whatever, and biked on thru the periodic showers. and even tho the trails were slick and muddy with wet leaves everywhere (super-slippery, and hides the damn trails!), i actually made it up "the big painful hill" for the first time...rock on! i even led the run for once (fish usually leads in patriots), barrelling thru the trails and cornering some sharp turns (that you couldnt even see!) at full speed (those fucking leaves!)...so it was pretty rock. after our ride, i got a quick tune-up at martys, then a celebratory round of more starbucks (mmm...java chip frap). we grabbed din and chess at cosi, where i got my ass kicked again. ok fuck that, i didnt technically get destroyed in that game. i actually took a big gamble early in the game by trading my queen for an assload of pieces (but not his queen), and didnt press forward my advantage in time before he could regroup and fuck shit up. interesting game, but i still lost...blah.

oh, i also spent a super-fun 15-minute path ride back to manhattan with a group of fuckhead bridge+tunnelers who got on in hoboken. yea i know, im usually the first dude to defend jersey people. but b+t refers to a specific group of people, and these cunts were just loud and obnoxious. the lead dickhole kept bumping my bike and fondling the brake levers, and a girl tossed some garbage at a dude near me, ricocheting off him and onto me. i flashed her a dirty look and mouthed "fuck you." it was super.

SUNDAY
i cant find no pants. fuck shopping...

look, i did things thursday! no shitting, i actually went out. there was a preview show for the dumbo arts festival thursday evening at a friends studio nearby, so we headed over after work to check it out. the newly finished (90% anyway) studio was really nice, with rockin' panoramas of dumbo and the east river. the artwork featured was um...interesting too. but whatever, the food being served totally rocked. whoever the caterers were, you rock. the asian-style chicken wings...fatty thumbs up.

i met up with tien there also, and we headed out to an evite/rock the vote party at studio 450 on the west side. the party was...interesting. swishy pad, black t-shirt clad waiters and waitresses, what we assumed were pr and media people. and free liquor too, thats all that really matters. and we totally rocked the vote...hardcore too. jk, what does that mean? nice views tho. they were also having silent auctions to benefit some foundations, and there was one particular item tien was eyeing...the 14 knicks tickets with a private luxury box at madison square garden. except he couldnt make the date listed...or could he? after checking his phone calendar, he noticed that the listed date was incorrect. january 14th was a friday, not a tuesday as they had dated. after mentioning it to the girl taking the auctions, and then double-checking with my phone calendar, and then tiens checkbook, she goes, "uh oh." either way tien still didnt bid...too bad. we rocked the vote tho...yo.

its just not been a good past few days for posts, has it? yea...nothing really to write about. i could be out doing things, but i havent. i could be making an effort to see people, but i havent. the chill weathers sweeping in and my hibernative (word?) instincts are starting to kick in. must...sloth. *drool* ironically enough, the heat in my buildings fired up (its semi-automatic), so my rooms like a frickin' sauna at night if i dont open my windows and door. blah to that.

just so i dont feel like this post is absolute drivel, im gonna attach a pretty picture. as if the presence of a picture somehow substantiates the post...or something. the return of big boy yo...finally caught on film. the fuckers seriously a tub. he didnt even bother to flinch as i stuck a digital camera up to its face and snapped away. flinch motherfucker, flinch!

"We were at our client’s offices having a serious meeting about the custom built multi-national ecommerce system that we were developing for them. My client was in the middle of a sentence and his attention suddenly wandered as he gazed out of the window into the attractive wooded area that surrounds their offices and said "I have this idea for a website for squirrels called 'Where did I leave my nuts dot com' which squirrels could log in to, to remind them where they buried their nuts". nutsack oregon, soft tacos, and that area between your crotch and asshole...topics of conversation at the new monday nite wings. word yo...i think ill be wide awake for the rest of the week now. there was also supposed to be coinciding monday nite football, but they apparently dont turn on the projectors outside at croxleys anymore, since theyve had complaints from neighbors of the noise it generates (from the patrons, not from the actual game). cockballs to that.

anyhoo, i came across this interesting article today from the bbc about online avatars. the alter ego photography exhibit by photo-journalist robbie cooper documents the characters that populate various mmorpg's and the people they represent in real life. curious to see whether the avatars resembled their real-life counterparts, cooper went thru europe and america to photograph the people behind the polygons...from the wheelchair bound kid with muscular dystrophy who is an armoured warrior in star wars galaxy, to the mother of two who is represented by a half-naked avatar.

the exhibit actually reminded me in many ways of the anime .hack//sign, where the main characters were actually virtual avatars in a computer game that represented some aspects of the people who controlled them in the real world. interesting anime (if not a little repetitive and boring)...if you ever get the chance.

jacques derrida passes away

of note from this past weekend was the passing of french theorist jacques derrida. while many would find his theories and literature esoteric and unintelligible (fuck if i knew half the things he posited), his influence was unquestionable. himself influenced by the german philosophers husserl and heidegger (another oft-cited theorist in the architectural circles), his deconstructionist theories pervaded a variety of design fields and social sciences, of which included architectural design. in architecture, decon rejected the notion of clean modernism and symmetry, instead destroying linearity and reconsituting the forms into complex spaces. within the works of morphosis, eisenman, liebeskind, eric owen moss, etc could you see derridas theories in architectural form, as well as innmerous other fields of literature, political sciences, etc...

openhouse weekend

i didnt have much planned for friday nite, but it turned out coo anyway. the studio crew went drinking at 68 (?) jay st. after work. well, mebbe not "after work" since drinking had actually begun during lunchtime. but a few of us had gone back up to the office to work, and rejoined the drinking crew at 6ish. after most people had left or disappeared, the three of us who were left had the munchies and decided to grab din at miso, where we had a plate of sashimi, two rolls, and some sake. very yum. afterwards, we chilled out at the cafe bar, where we liquored up and the two of them gave me pointers on life, love, and relationships. i need all the help i can get.

fridays highlight
(in elevator on the top floor as girl walks in) "is this going up?"
*thinking in head* "yes, this is willy wonkas magical glass elevator."

OPENHOUSE NY
tien reminded me that this weekend was the 2nd annual openhouse ny, so i joined marisol and chris for some brunch in chinatown first, then began our trek around the manhattan sites. even tho we started a little later than we had wanted to, we still hit the center for architecture, the lot-ek designed bohen foundation, v studios, and even swung by the vitra showroom...since we were in the area. too many places and only one weekend, blah.

OZ
satty nite was mins bday/going-away din at friend of a farmer on irving. mins decided to pack up and leave for aussie-land for a year or so, so we all met to send her off. and when i say "we", i mean a bunch of people i dont know plus mindy and one other friend of hers that i actually do know. we ordered homestyle country food and stuffed ourselves stupid on turkey, tuna, cobbler pie, and other various fill-you-stupid food. so good. we hit up punch afterwards, since everybody seemed to want to get jiggy to r+b and hip-hop (??). right then. while min was making her rounds, me and toshiko (the only other person i knew and fellow e.vil-er) made do with looking uncomfortable and wondering why there were so many asians there. i ordered a flute of champagne to try to blend better, but it didnt seem to work. we left the crew a little later to make our way back to the east village...ah well.

SUNDAY
sundy was pointless shopping around soho and west village. why cant i find shit i like?? gah!

anyhoo, following yesterdays post about days of being wild, theres a new(?) trailer out for wong kar wais upcoming 2046. im not sure whether this is the same trailer mentioned in the comments section of a prior post (i never did get to see it), but this trailers pretty chill, showcasing the all-star line-up of tony leung, gong li, faye wong, zhang ziyi, carina lau, chen chang, and maggie cheung...along with takuya kimura and thongchai mcintyre. all-star and international...very coo. the movie is or will be out soon throughout asia and europe, and will hopefully make its way to america somehow.

argh...so tired. i spent a good part of saturday and sunday nite fixing my windows after it went poop. for no apparent reason, my explorer shell decided it wanted to reset everytime i decided to open windows explorer, the control panel, or even internet explorer. so after an hour or so of pointless debugging (its kind of hard to fix the os when you cant access the components), i decided to run a copy of fonz's xp disc and repair the os. except the disc didnt seem to know i already had an os installed and just installed its own. fuck...whatever. so after accessing the new os, jumping between the two versions and toying with some system files, the original os decides to start working again. so after a few more hours of swapping files and fixing some bugs that popped up unexpectedly (outlook decided it too wanted to go poop), my original os is finally back at 95% or so capacity. shitters. i think my computer somehow found out that i was using a mac at work and decided to enact some vengeance.

anyway, no accompanying pictures. sorry dudes...this is all text. i met up with fish satty nite for some sky captain yo (finally). we caught an early showing at the 34th st loews, which is now on my shit list after we found all the kiosks dead and a 10 minute line to pick up my tix. fuckers. anyhoo, the movie rocked...better than i expected. i did have a few gripes tho...more frankie cook, more dex, and less polly perkins. everything else rocked tho, and the style was seriously coo. we grabbed sul long tang from gam mee oak afterwords, then (expensive) coffee and chess at koryodang. the games arent even worth detailing...i got my ass wiped all over the floor by fish and his black squad coming for revenge after his last chess-smackdown.

SATURDAY
i bummed saturday with azumanga daioh 5, the star wars trilogy, and a windows xp pooping on itself.

SUNDAY
i met up with ___ sundy afternoon. i took her for brunch/desserts at cafe lalo all the way up on the upper west side, which was pretty coo. we actually walked up to 83rd from columbus circle since we didnt feel like waiting for the local train (we had been on the express)...and it was pretty nice out too. it didnt take her too long to fig out why cafe lalo sounded familiar to her...word to pop culture. we walked thru the riverside park afterwards and just chilled along the waterside...very coo. i still dont really know what im doing, but i like being with ___. we need to get drunk.

UN LONG DIMANCHE DE FIANCAILLES
and another random movie bit, theres a new trailer for jean-pierre jeunets un long dimanche de fiancailles (a very long engagement). its a bit of a departure from the rockin' happy happy amelie, but still looks really gorgeous...so take a look.

i despise politics, but bush is just a fucking idiot. name dropping repeating ass english language-fucking non-substantive idiot. and if he is re-elected in november, i have to say that my hatred will not be directed at him specifically, but at the stupid, naive, uninformed, close-minded, freedom fries-eating fucks of america who put him in office.
